Management framework for design teams

This framework offers a structured approach to managing and developing design teams across various maturity levels. It integrates talent management, team dynamics, organizational alignment, and leadership practices, providing a roadmap for design leaders to assess and evolve their teams from emerging to industry-leading status.

I developed this framework based on years of leading diverse design teams. I created assessment tools, defined key performance indicators, and designed tailored strategies for each maturity level. This framework has been instrumental in my approach to nurturing design talent, team collaboration, and aligning design initiatives with broader organizational goals across multiple companies.

Design capability uplift for a unique organisation

A leading product and consulting firm needed to evolve its design team to help clients bridge the gap between strategy and execution. This work aimed to develop a diverse skill set within the design team, enabling them to deliver strategy-to-execution solutions across business strategy, design thinking, and technology domains.

As the lead design strategist, I reimagined the firm's design capabilities to meet this complex challenge. I conducted skills gap analyses, mapped future industry trends, and created a tailored development plan. My work resulted in a multifaceted design team capable of delivering human-centered services, from high-level strategy visualizations to detailed digital tool implementations.

A skills matrix that aligns with what the organisation and it's customers need is foundational to an efficient and effective design team. Using a standard format and process, I have defined a tailored skills matrix for several organisations.
